By Perkins Bare It’s the chevrons but its not the Chevrons, that was the order of the day as the duel between Zimbabwe Cricket and its players has reached a split with the mother body announcing a squad without 5 of its senior players. In the front seat we have Zimbabwe Cricket board in their suits and ready for business and in the blue corner we have the players themselves in their blue shorts and still whining over their unpaid salaries and threatening to boycott the match unless they are paid by the 25th of June or at least a settlement is made (that means a promise hey). These have the backing of the former players who have served Zimbabwe Cricket for the rest of their lives like Stephen Mangongo who`s suing ZC for 19 years salaries (just how old is this guy???). By Perkins Bare  The storm at Zimbabwe Zimbabwe Cricket seems to be slowly reaching its peak after the resignation of the Managing Director Faisal Hasnain putting pressure on the rest of the ZC board to follow suite. with captains jumping out of this inking ship it seemed to be yet another bad day for Zimbabwe Cricket as this was then followed by the cancellation of the second year of the Rising Stars programme, which is essentially a 5-year programme and was forming the backbone of Zimbabwe Cricket`s player development.     “Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) wishes to announce that Faisal Hasnain has officially resigned from his position as managing director, with immediate effect,” read the statement released by Zimbabwe Cricket. By Perkins-Tino Bare Zimbabwe Cricket is set to resume to action with a T20 tri-series against Pakistan and Australia slated for July at the Harare Sports Club. On the domestic front the A- List games were also announced as the boys get back to the pitch after failing to qualify for the World Cup.  Speaking at a press conference held by Zimbabwe Cricket Faisal Hasnain, ZC MD said "Playing two of the game's biggest teams will provide us with a very welcome litmus test as we forge ahead with our plans to develop a stronger Zimbabwe side capable of consistently competing and winning against the best," Faisal Hasnain, he said n an interview. By Perkins-Tino Bare The Chevrons fans are up in roar after ZC`s decision to sack Heath Streak and his whole technical team after the team`s upset in the World Cup qualifier`s. The skipper Graeme Cremer was also not spared and local fans are not happy at the decision taken by ZC as they`ve organized a Streak Must Stay protest on the 6th o April at the ZC offices. Zimbabwe Cricket was reproached for the manner in which Streak was sacked that is through an email which stated that they should resign or either consider themselves fired. By Perkins-Tino Bare The Chevrons are now all but out of the 2019 Cricket World Cup as they succumbed to their second consecutive defeat in the tournament which was enough to deny them a spot in England next year. This was the UAE`s first victory over a Test nation as they won the match by three runs in a match which was rather affected by rain. Zimbabwe won the toss and they elected to field and the UAE set them a target of 235/7 in 47.5 overs. Rameez Shahzad was once again the start for the UAE as he had a score of 59 while Gulam Shabber chipped with a score of 40. In all cases the Arabs got of to a strong start as they rushed on to a score of 180-4 in 38 overs. They still had the wickets and the overs and they were well on their way to posting a 250+ score before the rains came to the rescue of the Chevrons. By Perkins-Tino Bare Zimbabwe Cricket lost to West Indies by 4 wickets in nail-biting match played at the Harare Sports Club in a match which Taylor had a brilliant knock of 138 which included a whooping 20 fours and 2 sixes. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first but it was not a good start for the Chevrons as they lost Zhuwawo in the second over for a duck and soon the Chevrons were on 48-3. Solomon Mire chipped in with a healthy 45 but then it was up to the former captain Brendan Taylor to step up to the plate starting off with a partnership of 49 with Craig Ervine then 76 with Sean Williams to go on to the final knock of 79 with Sikandar Raza.  "Total control, very calm. By Perkins-Tino Bare   Zimbabwe beat Afghanistan by 2 runs in a thriller played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo as they held their nerve to bowl out Afghanistan for 194 after they had set a target of 197 to win the match.   The Chevrons went in to bat first as they lost all three openers losing the wicket of Solomon Mire, Cephas Zhuwawo and Hamilton Masakadza for a meagre 7 runs. This would have put into question the aggressive approach being employed by the coach as the middle order is having to do the dirty work. They once again stepped up to the plate and held the wicket fall following a 98 run wicket stand between Sikandar Raza and Brendan Taylor who has seen a turn of fortunes ever since he was dropped down the batting line up. Sikandar Raza scored 60 runs including 6 fours at a staggering strike rate of 88.23 as it came from just 68 balls.
