`Bring Back Our Cricket` By Perkins T Bare The appointment of Grant Flower as Pakistan`s batting coach has sparked the way overdue campaign to bring an end to the much awaited end of the disastrous reign of Peter Chingoka and his lads. His appointment has been received with mixed feelings joy as though it is a step further for former Zimbabwean players in coaching at the world stage and also a pat on the back for the Flower`s following Andy`s `sacking` from the post of England`s coach. On the other hand it was as well a final blow for the many hopefuls who were desperately hanging on to their faith as it is also a confirmation of what had been already a fact that it is the death of Zimbabwean Cricket. Barry Manandi a well revered sports analyst and one of the many passionate individuals who are spearheading the campaign said `this is an attempt to rescue our cricket, it has been held hostage by some individuals` and this indeed true for the governance of a few people has

The mass departure of sportsmen from Zimbabwe has been mainly attributed to the poor administration of the sports and the diminutive chances of having a successful sports career at home but an interesting fact is that after crossing the tide some players then decide to abandon their home country forever deciding against playing for their home country being assimilated with their resident countries all in the name of g

The Sleeping Giants Awaken             Perkins T. Bare The current remarkable shift of power and strength in the sporting world sharply reminds me of one Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto who was once quoted after the attack on the Pearl Habour as saying ‘I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve’. Whilst the Spanish were being knocked off their perch by the Germans, Arab-Africans were also being deposed by the West Africans and in the backdrop we had the moneybags who are failing to gain their dominance in the world of football resulting in a new era which has seen the resurrection of the giants at both club and international level in this sport supported by about half of the people on planet earth. We witnessed the dominance of the Red Devils in England,The Rossoneri in Italy,The Arab-Africans notably the Egyptians in Africa and the Spanish at both club and international level and here back home in Southern Africa clubs exchanged t
