Reprieve For Zimbabwe Cricket`s Malcolm Waller

By Perkins Bare Malcolm Waller was the beneficiary of a second chance from the ICC as he successfully went through a rehabilitation chance in South Africa which then made him eligible again to bowl. The bowler who had been banned by the ICC last year from bowling as a result of suspicious bowling action. The ICC said analysis "revealed that all of his off-spin deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations". Malcolm Waller underwent reassessment work at the University of Pretoria this month with the remedial work concluding that Waller`s off-spin deliveries was well withinn the 15 degrees permitted by the ICC Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions. Waller is not however out of the dungeon yet as Umpires are still at liberty to report him if they might suspect him of suspicious bowling action in the future. No Fairytale Start to Afrobasket Championships

By Perkins Bare It was not to be a fairytale start for the men`s basketball team as they lost all of their group games in the 2015 Afrobasket championships. Zimbabwe lost to Algeria 87-67 in their opening encounter.T Maturure was the lone star in the match as he had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tawanda Chitsinde also came in with 11 points which was still far off to notch up a win. Zimbabwe struggled with shooting from range as they had a 3pt percentage of 21 compared to Algeria`s 33. Next up for Zimbabwe was a match against Les Elephants of Cote D`Ivoire which was also not going to be an easy task for them considering the differences in size. The Ivorians came into the match well known for their size and they utilised it fully romping to a 64-52 victory. Vitalis Chikoko came good in the match as he had 17 poitns and 10 rebounds in a match in which he truly rose to the occassion. SSouleyman Diabate was the star for Les Elephants as he had 17 points and 5 rebounds which was howe
