Burl, Musakunda Dropped From Chevrons Squad

Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakunda were dropped from the Zimbabwe Cricket squad as Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwawo will replace the two in the current squad which was blown away by Afghanistan 4-1 in their 5 match ODI series which was played in the UAE.

The pair were dropped after a string of bad performances especially from Ryan Burl who had previous scores of 2,11,0 and 10 with the bat whilst he only managed to grab a wicket in the 4 matches that he played.

Tarisai Musakunda was equally missing from action as he failed to grab a wicket from the two matches that he played in the series. Cephas Zhuwawo had been calling for an inclusion into the team with his performances on the pitch in the domestic league with his best being his double century 265 he scored for the Eagles against Rhinos in a Logan Cup match. He then went on to stamp his name in the Chevrons squad in the series against lowly ranked Kenya staging a show with the bat amongst with he had century.

This bumped up his average to 26.61 and his strike rate to 70.17 and will surely be a worthy addition to the team hasn’t been performing lately with the World Cup Qualifier`s coming up in a few days. Scotland and Ireland arrived in Bulawayo and all the teams were hosted for a dinner last night in Harare.

Squad: Graeme Cremer (capt), Tendai Chatara, Tendai Chisoro, Craig Ervine, Kyle Jarvis, Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Peter Moor, Blessing Muzarabani, Sikandar Raza, Brendan Taylor, Brian Vitori, Malcolm Waller, Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao.
