Zimbabwe Cricket`s T20 World Cup Ham Special

Newly elected Chevrons captain Hamilton Masakadza is set to be the centre of attention as his current red hot from has forced a change of opinion over his general ability as a Chevron.
The 32 year -old batsman had been dropped by Zimbabwe Cricket following a bad run of form which forcede him to watch the game over a cup of coffee at home.
But ever since his absence from the game the man is surely back as he has posted figures of 93, 20 and 30 against Bangladesh in the T20 series played over in Khulna, Bangladesh.
Masakadza was also in dominant form in the T20 tournament played out in Bulawayo in which Zimbabwe Cricket were loooking fro the guys to represent the Chevrons at the T20 World Cup to be played out in India from the 8thy of March. he dazzled once again top scoring with figures of 162 (not out) and 83 (not out) which just showed that the man was intent on making his wrongs right.
Speaking in an interview with a local daily at the sidelines of the team’s sending-off ceremony on held last Thursday Masakadza acknowledged that the team did not cover themselves in glory in 2015. “We didn’t have the best of years in 2015 in terms of results and I believe we can only get better. The guys are really looking forward to the tournament and are all very motivated to start
getting the positive results” he said.
Zimbabwe has to go first through the qualifying stages were they are in group B with Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Scotland. Only the top team will progress to the top 10 which is the actual T20 tourney. Should Zimbabwe progress, they are expected to join England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies in teh Super 10 stage. The team to watch out for in the qualifying stages is Afhghanistan and they will start off their cmpaign against Hong Kong on the 8th of March.
“Obviously, the first target is to get through that qualifying stage and we will take it from there. Yes, Afghanistan have been a difficult side for us in recent times, but I think we have learnt a lot from the games that we have played against them in recent months. Some of the games that they beat us were really close and we just couldn’t get over the line, but I’m confident that this time, we will manage to get over the line. We will be looking to get one over them at the most important stage,” he said.
“It’s been a bit of a roller coaster. I was on a really, really bad low when I was left out of the team, but things have been better for me now. Being captain is a big honour. It’s something that I have been aspiring to do for a very long time,” he added in that interview with a local daily.
Being captain the experience of guys like Sean Williams and Sikander Raza is expected to also add some quality to the batting line-up whilst the bolwing attack looks relatively young with Neville Madziva and Luke Jongwe hetting a go.
